One on oneBeen there...and backRemember how you felt when your doctor announced you had a serious disease? Shocked. Scared. Confused. Maybe a bit angry. Remember how reassuring is was when someone answered your questions or told you where to get more information? Remember how comforting it was just to have someone to talk to? That someone was a mentor. Some patients don't have someone to talk to. Sometimes family, even a spouse, may not be prepared or able to provide the emotional support a patient needs. What they need is a mentor. A Mentor is not expected to have all the answers, but they usually know where to look. We can help you. Mostly mentors are simply someone who will be there when a patient needs someone to talk to; someone to help guide them through that first tricky episode. Mentors make themselves available when they have time, and remove themselves from the list when they don't. Just by virtue of having the experience they do, veteran patients are capable of immeasurable help and comfort to a new patient. No one, not even a physician, has the experience to help a new patient like a veteran patient who has been there...and made it back. It is up to us to help our own. Won't you help us help others? Please sign up today. You'll be glad you did. For further information, contact us.
