Sandra Frank, a well known, highly respected member of the pemphigus and pemphigoid community, was appointed to the PPS Board of Directors in April. Sandra replaces Misti McDaniel who is too ill to continue.
Veteran patients know Sandra well because she was one of the original eight patients on the very first online support group back in 1997. She helped me set up the IPF support group in 1998, and acted as the first List Supervisor, said PPS President, Sal Capo. She was instrumental in getting the group off to a great start.
She is a very valuable addition to our team. She has a wide medical knowledge and is a staunch advocate for patients. I cant think of any other patient who brings more to the table, or will work harder to educate and serve patients.
Sandra lives in Pengrove, California. She is a consultant to the State of Department of Education.
I am honored to be invited to serve as member of the board of directors of the Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Society, dedicated to providing support for pemphigus and pemphigoid patients through information on the latest research and most effective treatments for pemphigus and pemphigoid, Sandra said.
I commend President Sal Capo, the Board of Directors, physicians, and volunteers for their excellent work on behalf of pemphigus and pemphigoid patients thus far. I think its remarkable just how much has been accomplished in less than a year.
I look forward to joining such a capable and dedicated team as a member of the Board of Directors.
Sandras duties will be to oversee special projects for the PPS, and she is already hard at work.
